#Noirvember film #4 was THE POSTMAN ALWAYS RINGS TWICE (Tay Garnett, 1946): One of my earliest memories of noir is one that follows the rules straight down the line. Perfect.
#Noirvember film #5 was BLOOD SIMPLE (Joel Coen, 1984): Close your venetian blinds (especially if you're having an affair and your country has twisted gun ownership laws).
#Noirvember film #6 was EXPOSED (George Blair, 1947): Zippy murder mystery without much mystery and with even less murder. Weightless and clumsy, but oddly fun.
#Noirvember films #7 & #8 were KISS ME DEADLY (Robert Aldrich, 1955) & NIGHT MOVES (Arthur Penn, 1975): Los Angeles, coastal getaways, divorce detectives, and answering machines. Turns out this is a good double.
#Noirvember film #9 was BRIGHTON ROCK (John Boulting, 1947): Great to finally see this and add it to my list of films with wild and unsettling ghost train sequences.
#Noirvember film #10 was CUTTER'S WAY (Ivan Passer, 1981): Lots of potential as an addition to explorations of postwar trauma, but a disappointing use of some very cool characters and imagery.
