"Vanguard Information Technology" is an ETF managed by Vanguard which includes 334 companies.
Top 10 companies in this ETF account for ~60% of its holdings.
Top 10 holdings include - Apple, Microsoft, Visa, Mastercard, Intel, NVIDIA, Adobe, Paypal, and Salesforce

QQQ is the trading symbol for the Nasdaq-100 index and is an ETF run by Invesco including 104 companies.
This ETF has a 47% allocation to information technology companies, but also includes communication, consumer tech, and healthcare.

There is no easy answer for why one is > than the other.
Instead, I recommend owning a variety of both for your investment goals.
If you& #39;re chasing dividends - VGT has a higher yield
If you& #39;re chasing returns - QQQ has a higher 10-yr return

EX: VGT = 1.22% yield vs. QQQ = .74% yield

What I want you to take away from this is don& #39;t focus on just one metric.
