Canada’s main reasoning for denying HIV-positive people seeking to become permanent residents is based in the concern that the applicant would cause excessive demand on the Canadian healthcare system. This “medical inadmissability” is directly related to cost of HIV medications.
When I say leaving the US permanently is for the privileged, I’m not simply talking about the financial aspect of what that requires.
