Can the flu shot trigger a migraine in a teenager? Asking because for the first time in over 10 years, our family got flu shots on Thursday, the Friday my son was at his soccer practice & I got a call to pick him up ASAP because he had a severe headache & could not stand up
So I immediately picked him up, rushed him to urgent care, but the doctors/nurses treated us like he was contagious- they thought he had COVID19! So he had to wait outside, standing up for about 20 minutes - they gave us a different surgical mask to put on, offered us a
“Telehealth appointment” but we were already standing outside their office! Once they let us in, they made my son, who was crying out in pain, wait for 30 minutes before seeing the doctor... he was nauseous, in 7-8/10 pain, & as we were waiting, we could hear the nurses
Outside the door telling each other and/or the doctor that we “refused a phone consult” which was not true - we had driven there already so why would we go back home and wait for a call🤦🏻‍♀️ Plus my son was in so much pain he could barely walk... they treated us like we had the
Plague - the doctor came in with a mask, goggles, shield, gown, and would not get close to my son... even though we had been in that same office the day before to get flu shots... she would not answer when I asked if the flu shot could have caused this, because he had never had
a headache this bad before in all of his 16 years! Once she saw his temp was normal, and he likely was not infected with COVID19, she told us he had a migraine and started IV meds for pain and nausea... she came back into the room with just a face mask on. It is understandable
that medical professionals are cautious, but it truly felt as if they were discriminating against us because he had a headache/nausea, which are symptoms of COVID19... it makes me wonder how many others did not receive the care they needed in a timely manner because of the
fear of this virus... imagine if he was having an aneurysm or meningitis or something life threatening and they treated us this way? It is highly concerning... thanks for letting me vent - the fear mongering has got to stop! It is not right that nurses are afraid of patients
and they should be reprimanded when they speak lies - like saying “mom refused a telehealth appointment” when we never refused one - we were already outside when the nurse asked us if we would like a telehealth appointment and it seemed stupid to say yes and head home since we
we’re already there! And since my son was in so much pain he could barely move- he was in tears, clearly in lots of pain, nauseated, and they still made us stand outside until they could open the exit door and let us in the back way because they thought he had COVID19...
I did speak with the doctor regarding our treatment by her staff, and she had the floor manager come and talk with us, but it still is not right that there is so much fear being spread by the main stream media and our leftist leaders that it is making healthcare professionals act
this way- it is unprofessional, it is unethical, and I’m sure there have been serious consequences that resulted from this lack of immediate care that we are not aware of... we experienced it first hand, and it is highly concerning... thanks for taking the time to read my rant🙏🏼
