1/ I had a session with my therapist yesterday & I took 4 pages of notes. A lot of our dialogue centered on the same lessons she’s been teaching me for years about proactively managing my anxiety & emotions. I’m always re/learning. There were a few gems that may be helpful ...
2/ There was a moment where I was explaining that I was doing all the things to care for my body, but my body wasn’t keeping up.

3/ This led to us talking about how I can’t be self-deprecating & that I can’t shame myself for taking care of myself in the ways my body needs right now. We talked about new & evolving coping strategies in order to remember that I have a right to be as healthy as I can be.
4/ We also talked about how this is a transitional time (as an individual bc I moved, started a new job, etc & as a nation bc of the current admin, covid, etc) & that this is an inherently unsettling, liminal time. Yet, I/we have all done/come out of transitional periods before.
5/ She reminded me to be learning within this time in order to bear fruits of the suffering, pain, trauma, etc. that I am/we are experiencing. In this way, I/we may imagine & create anew out of this transitional & liminal time. Yet, all within my/our own sphere of influence.
6/ Anyway, shout out to therapy and my therapist who has grown with me for the past 9 years. I appreciate that she reminded me I have all the tools & spiritual strength I need to make it through this time - as an individual and collectively.
