Teachers Rowan and Gawain are volunteering at the Phoenix Centre holiday food hub in Norwich. With the centre’s trustee, David, they’re stepping up so no child goes hungry this #halfterm.

It’s high time the Government did the same>> http://bit.ly/leavenochildbehind

Rowan “I’ve seen hunger in my classroom so I joined @NAHHcampaign. When kids haven’t had a proper meal they struggle to concentrate, they can’t learn. They have bright futures- they could be our future leaders. But how can they reach their potential on an empty stomach?”
Gawain “This pandemic has shone light on something that teachers like me have seen in our schools for years. It's heartbreaking. By not extending Free School Meals to cover holidays, the Government has failed children this half term.
No child or parent should worry about where their next meal will come from. So I’m stepping up for children right now. But I will continue to push the Government to ensure they don’t let them down again.”
David “I’ve been helping to run this food hub out of the Phoenix Centre for four years. And I can honestly say this is one of the busiest periods I’ve seen. We have one golden rule - if people need a food parcel, they’ll get one. We’ll be here to support children and families.”
