Below description of 支点国家, 节点国家, 重要国家, and 据点国家.
Pivot countries: Saudi Arabia, Iran, the UAE, Egypt, and Algeria.

Main characteristics: they 1) can support China at regional and international level 2) have frequent high level exchanges with China 3) have established a comprehensive strategic partnership with China.
Node countries: Turkey and Israel.

Main characteristics: they can be a bridge between China and another great power at the regional/global level.
Important countries: Sudan, Iraq, and Morocco.

Main characteristics: they 1) have great (economic) potential and 2) their actions and domestic dynamics can greatly influence neighboring countries.
Stronghold countries: Djibouti, Qatar, Kuwait, Jordan, and Oman.

Main characteristics: they 1) are small but friendly countries 2) are eager to boost economic cooperation 3) can play a critical role in protecting China's interests in the region.
