In June 1959, Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed and his entourage would embark on a journey to London for the first time. In his trip, he would mark important visits, political first and infrastructural second, but little do people know he would also pass by a jewelry store... [1/4]
The name is Garrard Jewelry, one of the finest on Regent Street at that time. This branch in particular opened in 1953 up until 1998. Sheikh Rashid would examine the pearls purchased from Arabian Gulf traders and converted into jewelry sold internationally. [2/4]

After the branch closure in 1998, Garrard went to its original premises in New Bond Street (Since 1911). The store will have a new tenant, a Canadian jacket brand. Regent Street still marks a vibrant commercial street as it was in 1959. (Image source my own) [4/4]
