Do you remember the book Rize was reading during the very first chapter of TG when she was sitting in that Café with Kaneki? Yeah that very book was written by Takasuki Sen, and in that very book she tells a story that mirrors the whole universe of this manga.
This thread is about appreciating the brilliance of the character Takasuki sen (mostly), but also the direction Ishida sensei took on this whole manga.

That book Rize was reading was about the relationship of a young man (Kaneki) and his mother, a brutal serial killer. Though he
is disgusted by his mother’s cruel actions, he begins to discover the same depraved impulses exist within him as well. It focuses on graphic descriptions of violence, as well as an exploration of the protagonist’s mental state.

That young man is a personification of Kaneki: you
can see how this plot mirrors perfectly with kaneki’s journey during the first half of the manga (hunger, refutation, self hate, acceptance)… all of this is indicated only on the very FIRST chapter

-now let’s move onto the author of that book (takasuki sen for humans):
how do I even start this ?
She’s the founding leader of Aogiri Tree, bla-bla-bla; she’s also the daughter of Yoshimura(the old guy at the Café)..= pure eye-drenching backstory. But it’s not the core topic of this thread.
