YO‼️ To my Filo oomfs and noomfs, please please please be prepared for the incoming super typhoon. They say it's stronger than Typhoon Yolanda so do NOT underestimate it.

I'll be leaving some tips I got from my family in Tacloban who got hit by Yolanda in 2013:
1. PREPARE FOR THE WORST
- Find an evacuation spot that's safe (has to be sturdy and far away from anything that can fall and destroy it)
- Stock emergency food and water (canned goods, rice, instant noodles)
- Prepare first-aid kits that are easily accessible to everyone

cont.
- Charge all of your gadgets and power banks (your electricity might get cut off & you WILL need to call for help if that happens)
- Put important documents in waterproof containers (passports, birth certificates, etc)
- Learn/Remember how to swim (if worse comes to worst)
2. EDUCATE YOUR LITTLE SIBLINGS/KIDS
- Teach them with the mindset that they might be left alone in the midst of the typhoon. They need to know how to survive alone.
(My younger cousin had to walk to the evacuation center alone because she was by herself when Yolanda hit)
3. READY SURVIVAL GEAR
- You have to be ready for all possible situations
- Prepare rope, water jugs, things that might help you float, matches, lighters, and flashlights
- Discuss plans with your family so no one panics. Panicking could get you KILLED so make sure to keep calm.
4. YOU WILL GET COLD
- After getting soaked by the rain and the storm surge, my relatives were shivering when they arrived in the evacuation center. They even said that being in Baguio was less cold.
- Prepare or wear jackets so you can keep warm.
5. KNOW YOUR HOTLINES
here's a basic list but there are different numbers for each community:
- NDRRMC Hotline: National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council for NCR ((02) 421-1918)
- Philippine Red Cross Hotline (143)
- National Emergency Hotline (911)
My family in Leyte knew that Yolanda was going to hit but they didn't prepare because they thought it was just like going to be any other typhoon. In the end, the roof of our house was torn off and several trees crashed into the walls.

Please PLEASE stay safe everyone. <33
