Thread: @educationgovuk it has been widely reported that England is going into lockdown next week with schools staying open. I fully support children being in school, but we all need better data about the first 8 weeks of full opening. @mjb302
The graphs above released by the @ONS yesterday show the percentage of postivive tests in secondary aged pupils increasing rapidly. Primary and Early Years aged children show an upturn after the first 4 weeks of term.
In order to gain parental and staff confidence, for schools remaining open, could you please make the following data available?
1. In the first 8 weeks of opening how many cases of a positive test for a child attending a school/early years setting were singular events? And what is the breakdown for each sector?
2. In the first 8 weeks of opening how many cases of a positive test for a member of staff attending a school/early years setting were singular events? And what is the breakdown for each sector?
3. In the first 8 weeks of opening how many cases of a positive test for a child attending a school/early years setting led to an outbreak of between 2 and 5 people? And what is the breakdown for each sector?
4. In the first 8 weeks of opening how many cases of a positive test for a member of staff attending a school/early year setting led to an outbreak of between 2 and 5 people? And what is the breakdown for each sector?
5. In the first 8 weeks of opening how many cases of a positive test for a child attending a school/early years setting led to an outbreak of more than 5 people? And what is the breakdown for each sector?
6. In the first 8 weeks of opening how many cases of a positive test for a child attending a school/early years setting led to an outbreak of more than 5 people? And what is the breakdown for each sector?
7. When outbreaks (more than one) have happened in a school/early years setting what has been the beak down of pupil to pupil, staff to staff. staff to pupil and pupil to pupil transmission?
The civic response from the school sector since March has been incredible. Leaked plans to the press erodes confidence and causes high levels of anxiety for parents, young people and teachers.
