Y'know, because bisexuals are usually ignored in the media, I didn't realize how prevalent biphobia is. It's sincerely wild to see a screenshot of a character saying "I don't date bi girls" with a tweet that says, "I don't think she's biphobic".
THEN. EXPLAIN. BIPHOBIA. TO ME.
THEN. EXPLAIN. BIPHOBIA. TO ME.
I don't put biphobia into my fics because I don't even understand the stereotypes people have against us. It all sounds comically under-thought. I mean, 68.9% of straight romance stories are about cheating, so I think those fears about infidelity are coming from inside the house.
The one I keep encountering in conversation with relatives is "I'd be worried they wouldn't be satisfied with me and would always secretly want a different gender". Like...the mental gymnastics. Aren't you tired? I'M tired. If a bi person is monogamous,
guess what that means.
guess what that means.

But I do understand. Dating requires effort, and some people would rather not. I mean, hey, if you had to consider each person a complex individual, you might have to consider LOTS of people.
It's WAY easier to just trash entire groups to make choosing a partner easier, right?
