The unspoken truth of the Office is that it’s actually a scathing indictment of most Americans and a pitch-black nihilistic evisceration of what most people in this country value and care about, but only if you ignore how saccharine and in love with its horrible characters it is.

Each character is like a spot-on “I know this exact person and they’re a monster” depiction of precisely why most Americans are painfully stupid bigots who can’t think of anyone other than themselves, except the show thinks they’re all goofy but lovely underdogs.
