Sometimes people from Nottingham comment about the disastrous consequences of putting a protected cycle lane on Castle Blvd so to city centre. Emergency services can't get through. High pollution because of traffic. No room to park.

There has been a lot of talk recently about @MyNottingham and @NottsCC losing the bottle to create meaningful LTNs because of the backlash especially when local elections are close and every vote matters.
I drive. But I don't vote for the second video.

I have a car primarily (I bought in lockdown 1) to visit the graves of my parents and brother in-law.

Certain journeys are impossible by bike and/or public transport.
I'm the least marginalised demographic of society (40yo white male) but my vote is pandered to in favour of ignoring others.

I can't speak for others but do listen.

Few people want high traffic neighbourhoods.

No-one wins when you ( @nottscc & @MyNottingham) tinker at the edges
Be brave councils and councillors. Even if you lose your job, doing the right thing will show in history books that YOU did this

The continent now recognises what Dutch politicians went through in 70s & 80s. The Paris mayor recognised job on line when introduce in first lockdown
