Before we had the first lockdown parents voted with their feet and most schools especially ones in disadvantaged areas saw a huge attendance drop off.

With all the press talk about lockdown 2 today. Wondering if we’ll see an attendance dip when we start back after half term...

...I don’t want schools to close, what has been abundantly clear this half term is that you can’t replicate online what happens in the classroom.

My worry is that some children will be kept at home as parents for a host of reasons will be worried about the risks...

...Equally I’m worried about the broken pattern of learning many children have had since schools fully reopened due to COVID cases closing bubbles.

Add to that very real concerns about protecting more vulnerable members of staff...

...anyway deep breath and we’ll take each day as it comes. Time to review safety plans and risk assessments.
