(A Thread) Why Chelsea should sell Kanté and replace him with Emre Can in January or Summer.
Emre Can is a proven winner, picking up 7 trophies within his 9 year club career whilst Kanté has picked up 3 less trophies within 8 years. These trophies include: The Champions League, The Bundesliga, The DFL-Supercup, The DFB-Pokal, The Supercoppa Italiana and The Scudetto.
Emre Can is a very versatile player, he can play as a central midfielder, defensive midfielder and a center back. This season his main position has been as a cente back and has been impressive. (Bundesliga Average Rating 20/21) SofaScore: 7.43 - WhoScored: 7.69 - FotMob: 7.46.
With Dortmund in the 19/20 season (in all competitions), Dortmund would score 1.9 goals per game and concede 1.3 goals per game with Emre Can. With Kanté at Chelsea, we would score 1.4 goals per game and concede 2 goals per game.
With Dortmund in the 19/20 season (in all competitions), Emre Can played 15 games, winning 10 games and losing 5 games. With Emre Can, Dortmund had a win percentage of 66% whilst Chelsea had a win percentage of 39% with Kanté.
After the arrival of Emre Can, Dortmund had climbed up the Bundesliga table from 4th place to 2nd place, picking up 27 points with him in the Bundesliga and 2 points per game on average in all competitions in the 19/20 season.
Emre Can puts up better defensive, attacking and passing stats than Kanté. Can puts in more tackles, clearances, shots, key passes, dribbles and crosses per game and wins more offsides, puts in less fouls, wins more fouls and is dispossesed and dribbled past less per game.
Emre Can would cost us £23.4M and we could sell Kanté for £63M. As well as that, Can (26) is 3 years youngers than Kanté (29) and has more cons/strengths than Kanté. I also wouldn't doubt he'd gel into the team fast when he's got Germans around him (Werner, Havertz, Rüdiger).
