TargetSmart is one source of many tracking early vote, but after digging in, data shows minority turnout is not down everywhere nationwide. Yes it& #39;s down in Miami-Dade (TS shows this). But in Philly, Black early vote turnout for example is up drastically, 20% to 38.8% now.
In Allegheny, Pittsburgh, the Black vote is up slightly from 3.5% to nearly 7% now in the early vote.
In Detroit, Wayne county, Black turnout is up from 28% in 2016 early voting to 32.4% 2020 early voting. And in Delaware county, PA, Philly suburbs, the turnout went from 3.9% in 2016 to 11.4% now in 2020. The uptick is not uniform obviously, declines can be seen in NC, Atlanta..
