1. Masons/Bricklayers: They’re the worst artisans. Sometimes you think the devil whispers directly into their ears. All they do is complain about how underpaid they are and how they’ve been doing the job since forever. If you’ve got a good one, hold him tight https://twitter.com/_ayomid_/status/1322112345036988417
2. Carpenters: Usually carpenters are more patient and understanding, but they hardly meet deadlines. The ones that meet deadlines are not usually good. Carpenters are usually groovy too. Fun guys. But when the devil possesses them against you, e don be for you.
3. Welders: these ones are usually proud. They automatically assume the role of structural engineers. If you’re not firm, they’ll keep dictating their own timelines and rules for you.
4. Tilers: although they’re usually skilled, they’re very cunny too. Blink your eyes and they’ve disappeared and left you with tiny boys from Togo that don’t understand either English or Yoruba. Your problem just start.
5. Plumbers: plumbers are usually very lazy. They spend more than half of the time they’re on site talking rubbish and complaining about how bricklayer/tiler didn’t leave space for them. Las las, they do rubbish for you. If it’s easily traced, you’re lucky. If not, omo
6. Electricians: electricians would argue that your electrical drawings are not correct because your engineer no sabi practical. My electrician once condemned wiring in client’s house. Client asked him to rectify. Next thing, the whole house was shocking
7. Aluminum fabricators: these guys are usually too calm and humble and you begin to wonder if everything is alright. You tell them there’s an error, they apologize, rectify it, come back to apologize. 🤷🏾‍♂️. And you’ll be like “give me small trouble na”
8. AC installers: these ones like to do “the big boys”. Come in, do their shit, get out. They don’t roll with the crowd.
9. POP works/ screeders: you’ll have to sometimes ask yourself if they were sleeping while they were working. One time, this guy concealed all my light fitting wires inside the ceiling and boarded it up. We had to remove all the ceiling again.
