being thin in #HAES spaces means: being paid while the people you’re learning from are expected to do this work for free. what are you doing to change that?
being thin in #HAES spaces means: you are congratulated and adored for the shallowest allyship, while we worry about trolling or worse if we become too visible. what are you doing to change that?
being thin in #HAES spaces means: if you’re not sharing the mic with actual fat people on your platforms and in your publishing, you are continuing to embody oppressive dynamics.
being thin in #HAES spaces means: if you are trying to lead, you are likely crowding out someone whose voice should be centered. what rare you doing to change that?
all of this is squared (not doubled) if you’re thin and white. put your money where your mouth is & be mindful you’re not talking over the fat people in the room.
one more! thin #HAES folks: if you’re treating medical fatphobia as an optional issue to engage with, you are part of the problem. if you’re not challenging your colleagues with different credentials about their weight bias, you’re in my way. sit down.
