2nd of September 2013. Day that will be remembered for a long time. Arsenal signed Mesut Ozil from Real Madrid in a club record £42.5m deal on Deadline Day.

An emotional day for Arsenal fans.
Arsenal Fans lining up at the Armoury (store at the stadium) to buy Ozil shirts.
It took just 11 minutes for Mesut Ozil to mark his Arsenal debut with what he does best. 😉
On his home UCL Arsenal debut, Mesut Özil provided an assist and scored this goal against Napoli as Arsenal won 2-0 in the Champions League group stage.

His first season he finished with 7 goals and 14 assists, but we knew there was more to come...
In his first 2 seasons at Arsenal, he won 2 FA cups. He contributed to 6 goals in that run. Most notably 2 assists vs Reading in FA cup semi.
After 14/15 season that was interrupted by injury, he started 15/16 in blistering form.

By December 21, he had 15 assists. Record was held by Henry at 20 for the whole season. https://twitter.com/SkySportsStatto/status/679060600006311936?s=20
One moment Arsenal fans won't forget is his assist for Welbeck vs Leicester. What could've been. 🥺
STAT ATTACK:

Ozil registred Most chances created in a PL season of all time (146), Most consecutive assists (7 games in a row) at the time.

Mesut Özil holds the all time Premier League record for most assists in a calendar year (20 in 2015).
Mesut Ozil on his favourite goal: "The one against Ludogorets was like on PES! Passing four opponents then scoring, it was my best goal."

He also scored an UCL hattrick vs same opponents.
His best performance (for me) that will stay in Arsenal fans' memory was vs Leicester in 2018.
BEST QUOTES:

"Don't judge my path if you didn't walk my journey."

"I'm so proud to play for big club like Arsenal."

"Arsenal belong as one of the best clubs in the world, and London is a great place to be, a great city to live in."
"It makes me very happy when I create goals or score goals myself, but the most important thing is that the team reaches its goal and plays positive football."

Wenger: “If you love to watch football, you love to watch Özil.”

I'm sure Ozil was 1 of first to buy Wenger's book!
MY OPINION:

I'm not an "Ozil fan boy", but I can appreciate him for his time here. Shame it's finished like this. Important player in Arsenal history and wonderful human being. I'm sure he will keep fighting and good luck to him in next step, wherever it is!
