Thread asking questions that I feel need answering about #COVID19 and the UK govt response to it:
1) There are concerns from @MichaelYeadon3, @carlheneghan & others about PCR tests delivering over-exaggerated case numbers. Are UK cases therefore overstated & to what extent?
1) There are concerns from @MichaelYeadon3, @carlheneghan & others about PCR tests delivering over-exaggerated case numbers. Are UK cases therefore overstated & to what extent?
2) If UK Covid cases are overstated then are UK hospitalisations and deaths from Covid likewise overstated? If so, to what extent? @ClareCraigPath @carlheneghan
3) How many people have been recorded as a Covid death but died with Covid having in reality died of something else (eg Stroke, Cancer, Heart Attack). If so, to what extent? @ClarkeMicah @latimeralder
4) Is there a chance that the lines are blurred between flu & Covid so that Flu cases are being tagged as Covid cases? If so, to what extent? @AlistairHaimes
5) How many Covid hospitalisations are in reality people in hospital for something else catching Covid whilst there? What are govt going to do about this? @AlistairHaimes
6) If Covid was present in France in December 2019, it must have been in the UK at that time too. So what happened in January & February in the UK? Did Covid have 2 months off or was it circulating without us realising? @ClarkeMicah @JohnDStats
7) Covid has killed something like 500 people of working age who didn't have other serious health issues. Why therefore are this section of society having their lives destroyed when they are at such low risk? They will have to pay the bill for all this too. @cricketwyvern @afneil
8) If masks are effective, why've cases risen everywhere they've been mandated, can we sue govt for not using them before for flu? Why haven't GPs worn them for years in surgery? How do you explain Sweden's success then? @ClarkeMicah @AlistairHaimes @CovidSenseBloke @DesmondSwayne
9) Why are UK testing centres so empty it seems from data from recent days? h/t @Francis_Hoar A large % of people tested are asymptomatic with a higher risk of false positives - so why test those without symptoms? @carlheneghan
10) To what extent is the NHS currently truly filled with Covid patients? Considering we pay hundreds of billions of £s every year for it and we built the Nightingales, why can't the NHS cope?
11) How much per week are current lockdown restrictions costing the country? What will the impact be of lost jobs, suicides, mental health issues, poverty related deaths? Has a fully costed analysis been prepared of ongoing restrictions? @T4Recovery @LukeJohnsonRCP
