Dr. Lutz is no longer Spokane Co's Health Officer. @spokanehealth won't say why. No replacement at this time.
During this pandemic, @spokanehealth has answered so many Q's. Today, they left us with more Q's & very limited answers. We'll talk about it all on Lunch Break (KHQ's Facebook page) at 12:15. https://twitter.com/NewsWithKevin/status/1322247513244491778?s=20
Two days ago, Dr. Lutz & @spokanehealth were awarded for their work. Today, Dr. Lutz is mysteriously terminated & @spokanehealth is looking for a new county health officer.
Dr. Bob Lutz is out, @spokanehealth doesn't have a replacement, and the people of Spokane Co. are left wondering: what's happening? Here's what we know, so far... THREAD:
SRHD held a board meeting yday. Some of it was public, some not. In the private session, the board apparently decided to "support the decision" of asking Lutz to resign. 2 board members tell me they never formally voted, which SRHD Administrator Amelia Clark confirmed.
Lutz argued with SRHD board member Dr. Jason Kinley last night. You can see Lutz visibly frustrated, as Kinley argues against COVID-reporting protocol in hospitals. Lutz disagrees, hears Kinley's counter argument, then simply replies, "Duly noted." So, who's Kinley?
Dr. Jason Kinley is someone Rep. Matt Shea called "my good friend" at Shea's 'Freedom is the Cure' Rally in May. At the rally, Kinley said: "These medical orders are simply there to give you a false sense of security... As soon as God was removed, the (medical) system failed."
While @spokanehealth board member Dr. Jason Kinley was against masks, Dr. Lutz was advocating for masks. Kinley in May: "We are not reducing the spread by wearing these masks. It's only to allow somebody else to feel like they're safe."
. @spokanehealth board member Dr. Jason Kinley advocated for God > masks & restrictions in May. He said WA's health care system was bound to fail because there wasn't enough faith. "I see patients cured of stuff in my office that there is no Earthly explanation for. None."
Dr. Jason Kinley became a @spokanehealth board member after Josh Kerns, a county commissioner, appointed him. (Each commissioner gets to appoint one community member to the board.) I'm waiting on a call back from Kern's office on why he chose Kinley.
Dr. Lutz said this at last night's board meeting: "I will continue to work with schools & guide them based on our current data." It makes you wonder... when did Lutz know he'd be terminated and/or asked to resign? It also makes you wonder why @spokanehealth refuses to clarify.
From Betsy Wilkerson, @spokanehealth board member & city councilwoman: "This is crazy... There had been no inclination to the board that anything was going on." Wilkerson noted she is not on the exec board, but said she didn't know her board would be asking Lutz to resign.
