I think as a fandom we should be the first ones to stop practicing cancel culture. Normalize giving people chances for people to explain themselves especially when information can be bias or twisted by journalism. I do not agree that I should cancel a person based on a headline

How many times are you all are gonna get angry and say nasty things, pointing fingers at someone without possibly giving them the chance to come forward and explain what happened first. You get angry, cancel someone but when things are clarified +
you pretend like nothing happened but something DID HAPPEN, the person you cancel becomes a target. Every time they tweet, their name is mentioned they will be reminded that they are cancelled, like a marked beast, as a community this is not what we are supposed to do
We live in a world where we still have got so much to learn, there are still young ones to educate, even adults about things in our society but if we continue to cancel people for their mistakes or what an article claim they are, idk if we will ever progress as a society
If cancel culture were to be applied into the way we live and communicate with people it would look like this :
-Criminals will never ever get a second chance at life because he will forever be “cancelled” because of his crimes.
-Criminals will never ever get a second chance at life because he will forever be “cancelled” because of his crimes.
As a community we need to come together and learn that not everything we see in the internet could be 100% cold hard facts, this is taught in school how you must be able to look at sources and know that the narrative could be bias, misleading, etc
When articles are published , information are spread,ESPECIALLY if its directly about someone or an acc, pause for a second. Ask them to clarify, ask what’s their side of the story, seek other’s opinions on both sides of the matter, research if the information given is really true
When you done all that, you are able to come to a conclusion- but make sure that conclusion is solely based on your research on the matter, you should NOT
have a certain conclusion just because your oomf said so, she/he will not be held accountable for your actions if you do+

something that you will regret because of a certain decision.
This issue with cancel culture is part of the message that BTS sent with the song UGH because cancelling someone is channeling anger the wrong way

I have seen what canceling can do to people, it drowns them of their voice, their ability to even just defend themselves being human beings. So please, as a fandom we must learn to stop dog pilling on someone based on a article headline or your oomf’s opinion on them.
Be Kind and practice to be more kind. When people do something wrong, call them out but DO NOT CANCEL. Give them the opportunity to see what went wrong and learn to change. Because change is possible
And if a person refuses to change and continues to spread negativity and never learn, it is no longer your responsibility to sit there and wait, poke, provoke heck even use threat for them to change, unless they are actively hurting someone, block, unfollow, mute

There are 7 billion people in the world, stan twt is a tiny fraction of that population, you don’t have to like all of them, follow them or even see any of their tweets, if you don’t like, don’t follow.
Not worth your time? Mute
Don’t ever wanna see them? Block
Simple. Easy.

Simple. Easy.
But you don’t necessarily have to do that part for others, for your mutuals, give them the opportunity to judge it for themselves. See if they also reach the same conclusion as you, if they are okay with it then let them be,it’s their own right. You really don’t need to police them
Okay That’s it, I know this is not the most positive tweet or thread but it is something that must be said, please continue to use BTS as role models and take time to listen to the messages and lessons they incorporate in their music. Stream, Vote and Go Namjooning
