đź—łWOW! The line to vote in Edmond is way longer than anything we saw yesterday...
This may be a 6+ hour line
I have to imagine that a lot of people have seen this line and decided “not today”
Folks who about to vote in this line say they waited about 4:30. But the line is longer now than when they started. My guess is it’s around a 5-6 hour line. Could be less!
I don’t know how to report this without making clear that this is utterly unacceptable and a total failure. Never seen anything like this
As far as I can tell, at least at this location, there have been no changes made since yesterday. And the line’s longer today
There are 800K people in OK County! And they get 2.5 days of early voting and just two locations to do it. Poll workers are doing their best, but one of the limiting factors is just the number of voting booths. Social distancing making that more difficult too
Was thinking about this today, great point. It’s just the election board near the Capitol or Edmond https://twitter.com/wesdtl/status/1322230292854296576
Two interesting things a sheriff’s deputy tells me:

- Last vote was cast around 9:30 last night!!!! After they “closed” at 6:00

- Line seems to be moving a little faster today
YES, this is true as well! https://twitter.com/wanderoutside/status/1322232623276675083
This is just wild early turnout (plus the mail votes). Is it just eating up Election Day turnout (people who were going to vote regardless who are voting early *instead* of E-Day)? Or are we headed for record turnout overall?
It's also difficult, I think, for voters to make their voting plan now. Speaking for myself - do I go tomorrow like I planned? Or risk it on Election Day morning on the hopes that lines will be shorter at my precinct?
Voter in Edmond who got in line at 2:22 just now got to vote...
