Influential & powerful people pop up with their ideas on how to fix us. Sometimes they sound nice. Sometimes odious. They always know best. From out of nowhere, they get big platforms. (We had to build our own.) But nobody pushes them to state details of their actual plan for us.

A slurry of vague phrases is disgorged: "we will walk with these people (hold my hand)." "address the problem (us)" "wrap around services (like a hug)" "treatment & recovery (rainbows & unicorns)." No detail. Just let the reader imagine something nice. But never what we want.
