1/ Aptly entitled "Holding Providers Harmless From Medicare Cuts During COVID-19 Act of 2020", Representatives (and Drs.) Bera and Buschon are expected to introduce their bill to address the 2021 Medicare Fee Schedule Proposed (MPFS) Rule cuts--we're hearing from our friends....
2/ in Radiology that this bill could be introduced as early as today.

The bill seeks to address those services that are slated to be cut in the proposed MPFS and that those services be "held harmless";
While certain office outpatient codes (CPT 99212-215 + ....
3/99211 w/ GPC1X) and the new complex services add-on code "GPC1X" would be excluded from "hold harmless relief", the bill would establish the 2020 reimbursement levels for those that would otherwise be negatively impacted for 2021 and 2022.....
4/ This is great news for our front line physicians who were slated for cuts--now let's make it happen! If enacted, this is outstanding news for @EmergencyDocs . Recall that based on ACEP's success at the RUC that the 2020 W-RVUs were increased (~5%+) and that in the
5/ proposed MPFS that Levels III, IV and V would be increased in 2021 (in the range of ~4-5%). Back to back increases in EM W-RVUs would indeed be unprecedented but welcome great news to what has been "a year of years".
