I don't have time to make a Spike on the Mic about Jeweled Lotus, but my thoughts are easy to summarize. This is all I plan on saying about it. (thread)
1) I think people are overestimating the power level. This card increases the number of extreme top-end scenarios for decks that are typically inconsistent, but I don't think it moves the needle much on the average power level of a deck that runs it.
2) As @JoshLeeKwai has been saying, I think the fact that it adds to the number of non-games is probably the most problematic thing about the card, not its raw power level.
3) The community is notoriously bad at assessing cards before they've played with them. I'm not saying everyone's wrong and I'm right, but if this is actually problematic we can talk about it in 6 months. The format won't die between now and then.
3) The preorder price is laughably, ridiculously high. Don't light your money on fire like that.
4) As more powerful cards get printed it pushes me further into an anti-ban attitude. WotC isn't very agile when it comes to adjusting to problems in formats. If we identify a problem today it will take them years to course correct, even if they agree there's a problem.
Something like 1000 new cards get added to the format every year and we're not going to be able to ban our way out of any systemic problems that exist in development.
5) Finally, if you find preview season is personally affecting you to the point where it's raising your blood pressure and you're shouting at people online, take a break for a bit. Hades is cool and there's a new Jackbox Party Pack out. Do something else this weekend!
