So short Hearthstone Duels feedback after playing solidly for the past week or so on stream. Maybe @playhearthstone listens :) The game mode is great fun, but for longevity it needs to change reasonably regularly, much like Battlegrounds has been doing. However...
The main issue is starting health pool and the losses early on that compound problems later in the game. With a smaller starting deck that& #39;s half the size of a standard deck, we also get less health. That just does not work.
Having less cards mean you consistently draw your powerful cards, and so many "face" cards exist that end games. Cards like Alexstrasza can be played on turn five with the right treasure, taking you down to fifteen health. This shouldn& #39;t happen.
Having limited card sets in the game is great, but why do that if the buckets we can choose from aren& #39;t restricted? Even if the card sets rotate, if the buckets don& #39;t all games will still "feel the same" eventually.
Finally, and this is one of the most frustrating points, the first one or two games are pointless. You can be 0-1 or 0-2 just by getting a bad queue against face hunter as a control deck... before you even start your build or get going with a good treasure.
It puts you on the back foot immediately, and leads to an aggro meta due. Low health, consistent card draw, OP hero powers and not wanting to lose early on are all contributing factors into an aggro meta that is not going to be fun in the long run.
Overall I really like the mode, I can see myself playing it a lot. I love the deck building/dungeon run modes but there needs to be flexibility as there is already an established meta and it& #39;s already frustrating at times.
