Good morning. It's Friday. Here's a thread of books published by independent publishers we think are brilliant and often overlooked, plucked off Kit's bookshelves at home:
Wounding by @heidipearljames, published by @Ofmooseandmen. A beautiful study of what is expected of women in society.

Spurious by Lars Iyer published by @melvillehouse - a very funny philosophical enquiry.

Soccology by Kevin George, published by @OWNITLDN. If you have an interest in football, this is a fantastic read.

Never Seen The Sea by Holly Watson, published by @OpenPenLondon. A wonderful trip down 90s memory lane, hilarious and poignant.

Once Upon A Time In Shaolin by Cyrus Bozorgmehr, published by @JacarandaBooks. The incredible story of what happened to *that* Wu Tang album.

The Mythology of Work by Peter Fleming published by @PlutoPress - a radical take on why your job is pointless, and what we can do to find meaning in work.

Sealed by @NaomiBooth published by @DeadInkBooks. Eco-horror at its finest. A fine bit of publishing by our enemies.

Whatever Happened to Harold Absalon by @SimonOkotie, published by @saltpublishing. A wonderful, tangential, discursive novel set on a few stops on a bus.

Worlds From the Word’s End by @badaude, published by @andothertweets. Playful, odd, confusing and beautifully written short stories.

Damnificados by JJ Amaworo Wilson, published by @PMPressUK. You want socialist thrillers? This is the book to read. Superb.

Resolution Way by Carl Neville, published by @RepeaterBooks. Probably the best novel written in the last 10 years (Kit is writing this thread obvs, Gary would say it was some punk book probably).

The Homage by S.J. Litherland published by Iron Press.
The greatest book of poetry about the greatest ever England cricket captain.

The Large Door (badum tish!) by @Tiny_Camels, published by @bhousepress. An excellent novel from a much underrated writer, sexy, smart, full of theory but in a good understandable way.

That's it! Support independents because they are publishing the best work out there; innovative, risk taking, rewarding, pushing the frontier of literature and doing all on minuscule budgets and with no cookery books to fund big advance dalliances to over-baked writers.
