A few of us joined this party in 2015 because of Corbyn+McDonnell, want to make it clear this party has been toxic since the day we joined. People who were already members and weren't on the left treated us with contempt. There was a problem with left cliques saying dodgy stuff.

If this party is to ever achieve anything, people from every faction need to evaluate their contribution to the atmosphere over the last 5 years. As someone from an apolitical background. The party has never been a welcoming/ comfortable place to be. It's also jammed with racism.

Before Labour I'd never seen a set of people with so much contempt and hatred for each other, even if they didn't even know each other. Whilst there is a lot of focus on the left, the centrist wing of the party need to understand you've also been part of all of this.

You've also contributed to an asinine atmosphere where new members have been called entryists, trots among all other forms of derogatory slurs because they wanted to take part and engage in their democratic rights. Most of us didn't even know what half the slurs even were.

It's fair to say if we are going to pay money to be here, we should get a say more often in who candidates are and have people rerun for the privilege. Things change, leaderships come and ago. Its wrong to have a whole cohort from a previous leadership hostile to any change.

Things like standing to be reselected as a candidate shouldn't be put in a negative light. We never talk about the positives of having your record validated, about being able to say I'm not here for a cushy career I'm here because my CLP and my constituents think I'm doing great.

There's plenty of MPs we disagree with, but we'd be more then happy to vote to reselect on the basis of how hard working/how great their work has been and how well they represent the constituency. It's a shame others see it as a never ending purely factional battleground. Toxic.
