A lot of you didn't experience Christmas with divorced parents and it shows.
I grew up in a small suburban town in CA but they drilled it into us that NOT EVERYONE CELEBRATES CHRISTMAS and at school we had "winter break" and "seasonal celebrations" and we said "happy holidays" – I was very, uh, surprised when I got here and that was not the case.
I didn't truly enjoy Christmas until my partner and I decided we were adults and could do whatever we wanted, even if that included no dinner w/ family or even going away over the holidays. Idk, if you love it, great, but maybe realise it's ONE DAY and this year sucks already, so
I don't want to shit on your parade if you love Christmas – it's just wild to me that everyone is so obsessed with it. We all miss our families + friends, and normalcy, but...it shouldn't be the focal point or a big factor in how we approach the pandemic and STOPPING DEATHS.
