#sakuatsu There are times when Atsumu goes quiet, where he cringes away from touch and affection and stays completely off the radar. Not even his own brother can get him to talk.
Those days are hard, painful for Kiyoomi, not because Atsumu is terrible when he’s in such a mood
But because he hates seeing his partner like this; sad, broken and as if he’s got the whole weight of the world on top of his shoulders. Kiyoomi wishes he was a man of words but knows that it will fall on deaf ears when Atsumu’s so downcast. He wishes Atsumu would let him in and
Let him comfort him, just like Atsumu comforts him all the time. He wants him to know that everything will be okay, that Atsumu’s more than just his successes and failures, that he’s worth it and that Kiyoomi loves him just the way he is. Atsumu listens but he doesn’t do much
But tense at his words. So the only thing Kiyoomi can do is wait until Atsumu gets back to him, until he opens up to him again and the world. It’s a painful process. But a necessary one, Kiyoomi thinks, because Atsumu needs it, needs to be able to have his off days too.
It’s when they’re lying against each other, he on the right and Atsumu on the left that he finally feels Atsumu relax into his space. He feels his hand being gently cradled by Atsumu’s own, feels him raise it to his lips and leave shy kisses on his knuckles and in a soft voice
whispering, “Omi-kun...” to let Kiyoomi know that he’s back, vulnerable and fragile and desperate for affection. Kiyoomi wraps an arm around him, feels Atsumu melt into him and hug him back, and reassures him that he’s there, that “I got you, Atsumu.”
