Let's talk about thrush!

Specifically, let's talk about penile candidiasis in people on transfem HRT.

The reason for this thread is that I know several trans women, including me, who experienced an increase in thrush, or thrush for the first time, since starting HRT.

But I can find literally zero research or information on this issue, or many thrush resources for trans people.

Thrush is more common in cis women than cis men. I have no idea what the frequency rates are in trans women, trans men and non-binary people, and I don't know that there's ever been research on it. All I know is lots of anecdotes and trans women sharing info among themselves.

I'm also doing this thread because it's (a) it's difficult for many trans women to talk about their genitals so someone has to be public about it, and (b) when I asked the GIC about it they knew absolutely nothing and had never heard of this being an issue.
