Thread: Anand Gandhi (Director of Tumbbad)

Anand gandhi doesnt need any intro. Any1 who has watched Tumbbad can vouch for his brilliance as a filmmaker.He is also an enterpreneur & an innovator. He has founded a media studio &think tank called "Memesys culture club" in mumbai.

Gandhi is also the co-creator of ElseVR, India's first virtual reality (VR) platform. His intelligence & deep interest in philosophy & Virtual reality(VR) might have fascinated #SSR a lot as SSR was also a seeker of new ideas & innovation. He really wanted to work with Gandhi.

Even in one of his interviews he was asked which type of movie you wud like to do. He said Tumbadd n praised highly of it. Gandhi met SSR in 2017,since then they became good friends. Both wr mesmerised with each other brilliance & Gandhi also shows interest to work with SSR.

Since 2015,Gandhi is working on a movie based on a pandemic & he admitted after his death that he was writing the script keeping SSR in mind & two more projects with him.

Means Gandhi was in touch with SSR all through these years. Knew him closely, usd to discuss ideas with him for hours & was even in touch with him during his last few months. Below pics were of SSR's terrace where gandhi claimed to hv seen him fr the last time on 5th march 2020.

SSR was really excited for his upcoming projects evn during lockdwn as mentioned by both filmmakers Gandhi n Rumi jaffrey close to him. So what happened in June that he made up his mind to quit Bollywood n go for farming in Coorg for which he n rhea fought also on 8th & she left!

As per d info on public domain & FIR, Rhea left his house on 8th following an argumnt & blocked him.Then meetu came on the same day to stay wid him. As per her,he was quite nrml that time. It was only aftr Disha's death news that came l8r in the night, he became inconsolable.

Now coming back to Gandhi & the eulogy he posted after his demise on 14th june. You can understand by reading his eulogy that how beautifully he described SSR which only a person who has spend hours with him can do so intricately. He wrote "He was made up of flesh,blood& ideas"

unfrtunately d eulogy peddles suicide,tht hw SSR was deeply affected by his mediocre success.

Gandhi was aware abt many aspects of his life when he wrote-"Man who raged against a system was tender"

He also brutally wrote"Let me nt romanticize his grief, Sushant killed himself"

He expressed how he never cared to ask whether he was feeling included & nvr realised that the ground below his feet was slipping away.
He also wrote how SSR sought to expand himself only memetically n not genetically!

This was SSR's post of 15apr,he gave a link of Gandhi's vid on evolution of biol.
Again to re-iterate thy knew each other since2017,wr discussing ideas at length,involvd in deep conversations,both excited to wrk wid each othr,last met b4 lockdwn n wr constntly in touch evn aftr.

Then how come can u so easily believe that he killed himself. The eulogy no doubt was so heartfelt was put up on 14th itself. Being so close to the one who was looking frwd to his upcoming bollywud prjcts till the begining of month of june until he decided on 8th to give up all.

I undrstn intial stage was a shock fr all of us. The grief overpowrd our rationale to think othrwise, fuelled by media depression-filled suicide narrative. Bt soon the evidences started emrging, new leaks & facts arises, picture started getting clearer which raises severe doubts.

So wht made Gandhi to go complete silent & turned blind eye to all the facts & testimonies which emerges after 14th. No doubt he knows abt SSR being on anti-depressants &on medication bt can the fact of undrgoing treatmnt for depression dilutes all the proofs of a possibl murdr?

M nt casting aspersions on him in any way bt I m quite disappointed that ppl who were close to SSR even in the last few months n were in constant touch,who knew him so well hv fallen prey to fake narratives so easily to be able to write 10 page eulogy bt has gone cmplt silent nw!

Is this nrml Human behaviour? Ask urslf!
Wht wud u hv done if u were in gandhi's place?
Wud u have believed in suicide evn aftr knwing SSR so well?
His eulogy is a proof he knws him vry well.
If believed, thn after evidences/facts emerges, wud u still maintain your stand?

Btw In the pic of 5th march 2020, #SSR looked quite hpy.
This was the last time Anand saw SSR.
They were sitting on his Mont blanc's terrace.

Anand might hv co-incidentally mentioned wrong location in his post: Galaxy apartments, bandra west is "Bhai's" residence!
