In addition to my last tweet, it’s also important to remember what the post prod process is like for the directors, producers & editors. They have eye watering deadlines for networks & have to serve the story in the best way possible, it’s as galling for them having anyone cut...
..for the writers they created your character & you gave them life! Directors & producers were in the casting room (pre covid 😱) & met you (or viewed your tape ) discussed, debated decided about you, the director & crew spent time with you....
... for you to be taken out of the equation is gutting, most productions I have worked on the producers do all they can to notify actors who may be or have been cut, this sometimes doesn’t happen and in my experience that is purely down to huge amount of post production work ...
......and actors not being notified in time.
But I have had many conversations with producers on the occasions they give me the list of whose gone and I can assure you that that conversation is never cavalier.
Always gutting, rarely expected & never gets easier for actors ....
we champion you, that’s why we bought you in, you did the work & brought something to the table it’s why you got the gig, you shot your day/s & at that juncture you were helping serve the story but sadly the story took a different turn & you stepped away..until the next story ✌🏽
