Time for another opposition thread and this time it's Burnley
I'll discuss the Clarets' strengths & weaknesses and conclude with my preferred XI.
Burnley are one of the few clubs who still play the old fashioned English football. A 4-4-2 with a big man, little man combo (1)

Wood is a typical target man striker who looks to win headers and play flick ons or knock-downs for his partner Barnes. Wood is Burnley's primary threat and is always a target for their long balls or crosses.

In possession, Burnley aim to get the ball wide to its wingers and get in a cross for the two strikers. If the cross fails, their 2 CMs lurk outside area to pick up lose balls and test the keeper from range.
McNeil's crosses from the left to Wood could prove to be a threat (3)

Defensively, Burnley stay narrow and compact while giving up space on the flanks. Their CBs are very happy to deal with crosses but lack speed/agility and are vulnerable to quick passes in & around them.
They also struggle in dealing with low crosses or cutbacks in the box (4)

Burnley as a whole lack speed and when they commit men forward, they struggle to bring them back quickly and are extremely susceptible to quick transitions.
This is not a game for slow build up as that gives Burnley time to settle into their shape and play to their strengths (5)

The Clarets' biggest strength is their set pieces and one we need to be really careful of. Even free-kicks from deep areas are a chance for them to get their big men up and pump the ball into the box.
We'll need to be well prepared for this huge threat from them. (6)
