he's very happy and nervous to be back with his second official album and excited to share it with the fans!

the name 'take' symbolizes the different 'takes' 'scenes' of his life that come together to create a movie called 'song minho'

he's been spending most of his time recently at home and in his studio, finishing his album. eating yummy food. he's a homebody haha

mino shares that yoon has been very busy with kairos recently. the members came over, had some bbq, played ping pong (he won lol) and they've been consistently keeping in touch

so they're filming at a cgv movie theater today... they decorated it so that it looks like a home theater, with a lot of vintage decor and popcorn and stuff haha

the first segment of this vlive is re-watching the teaser videos and talking about the behind-the-scenes stories and any meanings!

for the first teaser clip, mino shares that it was interesting to see people's guesses and theories online. 'color' 'spectrum' were the key words for this, so they used 3-d scanning to capture 'all' of mino. he said this was one of his favorite teasers

mino reads some comments on the ipad... and then he says his seat/the set up makes it look like he's on some american talk show... he turns to the right and starts to act like he's on a talk show

they show the 2nd and 3rd teaser back to back... mino says these two are actually connected to one another

omgg apparently the members are watching the vlive and sending comments!
one of them said: "why's he doing so well on his own"
mino: "nice! i got a compliment!"

the second teaser is obviously him looking/viewing himself. he felt like the person looking into the binoculars vs looking at the binoculars perfectly expressed 'run away from me' vs 'i'll run away'
the third teaser uses a split screen to directly contrast the two personas

ahhh the first teaser poster was taken by yoon!
he came on set to their mv shot. yoon told mino "come here real quick" and there was a puddle of water. yoon took the photo and mino loved it so much he wanted to use it as a teaser poster

someone says they're busy looking at mino and the video it's so hectic mino suggests they use one eye to look at him and one eye to look at the video.... no words

for the title track poster, mino shares he had a lot of fun on set, so the photos came out good too. again, 'run away' and 'don't run away' were the two big contrasts on this shoot.

the photographer responsible is well known for taking more artistic? pictures than pictorials, so mino says the vibes are gonna be different.

omgg the album looks like a book/journal

ah yes mino says his first inspiration for the physical album was a journal/diary. he says this album holds a lot of personal stories and sides to him

he wanted whoever bought the album to be able to just lay it out anywhere around the house and it'd still look cool/fitting with its surroundings

now he'll share the songs on the tracklist~

first is 'love and a boy'.

it's about a boy feeling small inside love, this huge emotion that tussles him around. he would describe it as the introduction to take as an album. he thinks love is an emotion that, even when u grow old, it'll always make you feel youthful like a boy

2. run away

unlike the other songs, the verses are cold but it has a charismatic hook. the chorus is easy to listen to and memorable. he could've had the lyrics be easy for the gp (since this is the title track) but there was a specific message he wanted to convey

so it'll be hard to interpret

he talks about how he made this in bali when he went on a trip with the winner members. the night was the perfect temperature, the stars were so pretty, he used a tablet to record it.. he had to hold the mic up to his mouth haha

3. ok man

there's a heavy bass with interesting sfx? he mentions it's the last song to be completed in the tracklist. he was wondering who would be the perfect featuring artist. his msgs w/ bobby was so funny b/c he really felt like he could hear bobby speaking through the text

4. wa

this is one of the oldest songs mino made on the album. he says the addition of zion t made it beautiful but it's a song he wanted to share with us for a long, long time. he feels very confident with this song.

5. i want to

the chorus includes car sfx?? very interesting sfx used in this song. it's chill and easy to listen to.

6. daylight

he wanted to express someone in love. he put a lot of work in the chorus. it's a very loving/adoring song

7. hop in

"dpr live did such a great job w/ his part. it's supposed to be an encouraging hip-hop track... like as your elder/hyung/senior, you can lean on me"

8. pow!

witty rap, a fun track. it's supposed to express that explosive feeling when u fall in love. he mentions how he's an ENFP and how they never stop imagining/creating... that became an inspiration

9. click / han river view

he says in a way 2 songs connect to one. click is about fluttering feelings, conflict, written out in detail. it's exciting and feel-good. han river view is more honest in contrast. the title is inspired from his view from winner's dorm~

10. book store

he's happy that this song generated a lot of excitement and buzz because of the unique choice in title. it's about to the other person, you're full of books that the other person can browse. they can flip through your books to learn about u, and u w/ them ....

...it also expresses someone who's been hurt??
it has a completely different genre/feeling than the other tracks on the album.

11. sunrise

this one has a more folk feeling.. he wrote this song after watching the sunset in hawaii while filming sth with the winner members. he saw it and felt so bad that he was the only one seeing this. but he wanted to express it somehow, too. he mentions he spoiled it

the reason why it's 'sunrise' rather than 'sunset' is because he just thinks 'sunrise' sounds prettier LOLLL

12. lost in a crowd

this was made around last year? he thought a lot about how to end take, and he felt this was the best one to represent the final 'scene' of take the album.

Q. what kind of food you 'take' out nowadays?
MN: you know.. that thing.. a sandwich... way... the train... yeah that one

Q. when did you find urself missing the members most while making the album?
MN: i'd feel lonely sometimes after finishing recording

Q. which is your favorite lyric on the album? the one that makes you go "whoa..."
MN: i love all of them.... i think it'd be nice and more meaningful if you decide that for yourself.

Q. which b-side song on the album did the members like the most?
MN: i think they liked the title track 'run away' the most. the 'ga ga ga ga' part.

Q. when do u feel a sense of loss for no reason (lost in a crowd's korean lyric translated), and how do you overcome that?
MN: i can't say for sure. it just kinda comes to me out of nowhere. but whenever i feel that emotion, i like to work on my music. that's how i get over it.

Q. what's the ideal place for you to enjoy listening to 'daylight'?
MN: hm.. idk if there are any limits to your question, but i'd say a rooftop? oh! i'm #8 on naver real-search!!

Q. if you could 'click' on something for it to take you to any time/place, when/where it would be?
MN: ooh.. though the future sounds attractive.. i'd go back to the past. i'd mass-purchase stocks for big-name companies.

MN: oh, that question earlier about where to enjoy 'daylight' best? one of the winner members answered that. they said the new yge building... yes... that is a great place to listen to daylight....

Q: when did you last splurge on shopping?
MN: i bought a couple of shoes recently... ~flex~

Q: mino, when you watch the sun rise after you finish working on your music, how do you feel?
MN: "i should go to sleep now... i did my work... i worked hard. i did well."

first story is about the time mino asked to hear ICs singing one more time at WWIC and taking off his earpiece.. just like how ICs love listening to mino it felt like mino loved listening to ICs too. mino says of course he remembers this moment, it was so memorable.

2. when mino won first place on a music show and rapped his acceptance speech. they re-watch that from time to time, & they say they can't even imagine everything he went through to get to that point.

mino says he practiced A LOT for that.. up until the car ride to the show

3. is about the first time an IC saw mino. how he shines so brightly on stage and always tries his best and gives his all in everything he does, especially on stage.

mino says he's very thankful for this comment, that he'll continue to try and be the best version of himself

4. is about the first fan sign the IC ever went to for really really. they couldn't believe such a small face can hold two eyes, a nose, and a pair of lips haha. they say that time moved so slowly for them when they saw him.

mn: that's because i walked slowly that day

5. another fan sign story! they were super nervous and stuttering but mino was patient and kept eye contact and listened carefully to everything they said, and they felt so... happy? comforted?

mino finds it adorable when fans get so nervous in front of him haha they say "hello~" but their hands are shaking holding the album haha

6. a concert experience! there was a moment where they thought they made eye contact with mino, and he smiled and nodded. mino reads out the sender's name and says "oh, yes! we did make eye contact! i even nodded at you! remember?"

7. artist mino~ they say watching mino draw and seeing his art be exhibited feels like a scene in a movie. "watching you draw your dreams at an hour of the night when everyone is dreaming made you look like the main character of a film." mino says this IC has a way with words~

mino says he'll work harder to make sure he can see all the fans in various places!!! he thanks the fans for sending these stories in~
