WE& #39;RE IN BOYS
the whole being dead thing: i do prefer the final version, but demo beetlejuice has no filter and i LOVE IT

also it feels more like you& #39;d hear something you& #39;d hear in some bar, instead of a chaotic funshow

oh hey, part 2 is also added onto this one!
death& #39;s not great: this does not fit the chaotic nature of the musical for me, even though it does have /some/ language, does show how beej feels miserable in the afterlife though and i do love that a lot

the song is just not for me and i am glad we got what we got
the hole: i do love the lyrics as...you know...raging atheist, but again i cannot see this opening up the show, feel like it& #39;s too slow and while it does describe the afterlife pretty well we got that in what i know now, still a great look in what beej thinks of it
gotta get outta this house: him haunting the house for millennia!!! i actually do love how the tune of barbara 2.0 is used for this, and just beej describing his experiences until the maitlands move in

also introduces the concept of a wedding with the living p early on
dead mom: i do like the lyrics a lot, some things like the long "along" do piss me off for whatever reason but overall lydia is still angsty as hell

compared to the finished version it does not have that strong of a ending, so it didn& #39;t end with a bang
mama would: ok we all know this one, a GREAT song i wish it made it in, some lyrics did change in the dc version but it& #39;s still all so great and you do get to know emily and why lydia loved her so much
sign yourself over to me: YES CHARLES SONG

proposal song!!!! it does really set charles as a business man and pretty much trying to convince her via materialistic things
it& #39;s almost like he& #39;s only doing this for lydia and himself

glad he& #39;s changed, rlly like the tune
delia& #39;s TED talk: we got /some/ insight into her life in no reason but only in the comedic form and this is SO MUCH BETTER, god i wish we got this, people would like delia so much more if this made it in (hell, even as dialogue)

i love her I LOVE HER AAAH
no reason: ok this is my favorite song in the whole musical and it did change a bit but GOD some things i wish made it in (like the "privileged and white" line and the "my mom dying" one)

glad they added delia having a breakdown in the middle of the song in the final ver. tho
fright of their lives: THE FUNKY BEAT ok i love it but the final version is arguably better, some lines are so funny and wish they made it in

"i& #39;m positive but YOU ARE SHIT!!"

"we can FUCKING hear you" JESUS, ADAM

the cast added a lot of charm to this one
say my name: changed a bit from the other demo version (which i love) and i still like it a lot

babs and adam demo duet!!! i love the ending, the song feels a lot slower though, i feel like it wouldn& #39;t have sparked trends if they went with something like this
you can only work with what you get: LYDIA AND BEEJ DUET IM SO HAPPY kinnie moment

i actually adore this, they seem like cat and dog at first but find out they are very similar and want revenge, the tune feels off for this musical specifically but still,, YEAAAH
step right up: guessing this is after the day-o possessions by the melody, i like it a lot actually (you can give me any lydia n beej friendship and i& #39;ll eat it up)

they& #39;re so chaotic i love them sm
a little more of your time: MORE CHARLES SONGS i had to listen to it twice because i got distracted but i love this insight into his character and his role as a father, he really loves lydia and wishes he was there for her more which is *sheds tear*
children we didn& #39;t have: [LOUD SCREAMING]

WHY DIDNT THIS MAKE IT IN, it was implied they had a miscarriage but it was played off more like "we& #39;re afraid of having children" and this makes so much more sense and really shows their quick attachment to lydia
what& #39;s left?: i& #39;m glad we got barbara 2.0 instead but this is GREAT, i love the lyrics and i love their relationship, not much to say about it since it& #39;s pretty much barbara 2.0 but another version
barbara 2.0: not much changed (mostly dialogue) i still LOVE this, it& #39;s a perfect song and i& #39;m glad they went for this
the box: OTHO SONG!!! i really...do not like this all that much, but i guess it does fit him, i also don& #39;t love the lyrics, if i was listening to the cast album and this came on it would throw me off

would& #39;ve loved to get an otho song in the final version, but not this
i am very good at running cults: it does seem like otho& #39;s songs feel very pop and mainstream sounding but i actually do like this, i wish they kept the otho cult leader gag

also, pardon, NECROPHILIA??? i mean, he did say he wanted to suck off a ghost...
mixed it up together: this is a strange song, im gonna guess this is either beej and the clones or beej in the netherworld, it would& #39;ve been strange if he went back like that though

not a fan of this song, but not bad
everything is kinda "meh": this is so funny AND FOR WHAT, what i know now is better but i like that the ensemble got a chance to shine in both, i like the hip hop (?) style but a lot of it i feel like it wouldn& #39;t fit with the rest of the songs if it made it in
what i know now: i still love this song, love that some of the ensemble could& #39;ve gotten more time AND a longer backstory to their characters, did not change a lot out of that

also..shrunken head guy...talks?
goodbye, emily deetz: do not get me wrong, love this song, but im glad home replaced it, home has a build-up to acceptance and is a lot angstier, which fits lydia, and this comes after lydia settled her feelings (which is ok but not as impacting)
ain& #39;t it strange?: so beej got kind of a REDEMPTION on demo?? love that so much, he kinda deserves that

the current ending feels a lot more conclusive but i like how the characters admit to their faults, this would& #39;ve worked so well, but not as a closing number
closing thoughts? some of these should& #39;ve made it in, they would& #39;ve improved the characters and story a lot

others? ehh not so much, they don& #39;t fit with the tone of the musical, needless to say, it seems like the show was going to be more musically diverse

+
i& #39;m glad they did what they did for the final version, though it was super interesting hearing the different concepts, eddie perfect you madman YOU DID IT
