got home from work and wrapped up showing my friend SDF Macross
the post war arc is clearly tacked on as a last minute popularity extension
the finale peters out
Hikaru& #39;s character is kinda lessened by making him wishy-washy by leaning into the love triangle
Still Great Tho

the post war arc is exactly the kind of What Happens Now thing i want in just about every show so honestly i didn& #39;t have a problem with it, and it did finally have time to slow down and give some real great character stuff and flavor, it& #39;s some of the best content in the program
it& #39;s wild that Macross is known as The Plane Missile Show With Idols And Love Triangles and how utterly separate most of those things are in the first installment
i think i& #39;ve made it pretty obvious but i liked it a lot more the second go around and i quite liked it the first go around
