Today my 18yr old son saw the colour orange for the first time in his life. Rather emotional.

Little thread about it.
My wife first noticed he was colourblind as a toddler when he couldn’t understand why his brother and sister got angry with him for taking their particular kiddie chairs. They all had different colours, but looked the same to him.
When he was at school we would walk in for parent/teacher interviews and look at the wall of pictures painted by the kids. His stood out as the tree invariably had a grey trunk and purple leaves.
His version of colourblindness is called protanopia. These are example of what we see, and what he sees...
So a few weeks ago we ordered some glasses developed to help protanopia people see colour.

I hadn’t really understood the impact of him seeing an orange before. We all must have got hay fever from it.
Anyway. The glasses were expensive but so worth it. If you or any one you know are thinking about it, I can highly recommend.
