Wow. In addition to all the great news we have heard lately in #bitcoin , I’m happy to report that my dad took the plunge and bought his first bitcoin. It took a while for him to come around. I left a copy of the Bitcoin Standard with him. Then he called me.

He asked me how things were going. We made small talk for three minutes before he asked me, “what’s Bitcoin doing today?” I replied with an update. He then told me he wanted to buy some. I walked him through what to do over the phone. He’s still learning. We all are.

I told him I learn something new every week being a part of the Bitcoin community. It’s made me vastly more knowledgeable about the nature of money and hard assets. I told him that with Bitcoin, every day is like Christmas. There’s a perpetual anticipation in life.

Not just from the promise of monetary gains—which is awesome though—but from the belief that Bitcoin can help bring sanity to an insane monetary world. It feels good to be a part of something that truly connects people across the world. And with so many brilliant people.*

I told him that he is just on the edge of the rabbit hole and is about to jump in and start rushing down, learning and growing the whole way. In a divided world, Bitcoin can help bring people together.
