My friend is in therapy school and I regret to inform you that textbooks are still talking about"autogynephilia" in the year 2020 .

It's SO much worse than we thought it would be, and we already thought it would be very bad.

One of the kids was like "I'm a boy" and the therapist was like "how can you be a boy when you said you were a proud feminist" ??????

also the same kid was like "i'm a boy" and the adults were literally like "well when you were younger you pretended to be a lizard soooooo...."

oh i forgot to mention that they're also using "transvestic fetishism" in the same sentences as autogynephilia to explain why some AMAB children are trans?!?!? i would like to physically fight the author and also sue any schools using this textbook.

omg they also were like "kids shouldn't be allowed to socially transition until all other options are explored" so I'm here to say that all available research points to the conclusion that allowing kids to socially transition is actually suicide prevention so.

it also has ZERO RISK and is entirely reversible so like what's the harm in letting your kid do whatever gender.

For people asking, the book is called "Principles and Practice of Sex Therapy, 6th Edition" which was published IN JUNE 2020.

good lord, they're literally describing ROGD (Rapid Onset Gender Dysphoria) as if it actually exists (it doesn't, there's actually no recognized research that supports it) but they're calling it LOGD (Late Onset) as if we won't notice it's just the same ROGD garbage.

We have since learned that this chapter was written by Ken Zucker, a famously transphobic psychologist who was fired from his job for being transphobic as hell and essentially practicing trans conversion therapy on patients.

An article defending Zucker after his 2016 firing was published in the Cut by none other than... you guessed it, Jesse Singal. The famously transphobic journalist that Zucker cites as an authority in this chapter.
