General Adaptation Syndrome Stages: 1. Alarm Reaction 2. Resistance 3. Exhaustion.

Your body/mind adapts and grows when stress is put upon it. Applying stress to the mind, body, and soul is how humans grow/improve.

If you put too much stress on the body it goes into exhaustion and growth is negated, damage can happen.

As a coach/teacher my job is to put the right amount of stress upon my athletes/student in all 3 aspects of life (mind/body/soul).

Having a job of purposely putting stress upon humans isn’t always the most fun thing in the world to do, but seeing the end results sure are worth it. Is it bad I try to get close to the edge often? You have go swimming in the deep end eventually don’t you? Anyone want to join?
My personal peer group tends to put stress upon each other the minute we greet each, understanding the benefits of applying stress might explain this phenomenon.
An important aspect of the general adaption syndrome is that the stress from the many different aspects of life gel together - so finding the right amount of resistance/stress applied in all aspects of life can be very tricky.
This is why coaches are not just coaches, they help manage people’s lifestyles. Coaches have to take into account the many aspects of stress in each athletes life.
So I will take this thread to the next level and say that the current Covid pandemic has caused a lot of stress in this world. Let’s take that stress and #AdaptAndOvercome I find it interesting I started this thread with the purpose on of how to improve upon strength training 🤷‍♂️
Applying the appropriate amount of stress at the appropriate time is crucial for growth. To do this on a consistent basis can be challenging. Done correctly with consistency the human body is capabale of amazing changes. #ThisIsTheWay
