Just bought a bunch of books online for family Christmas gifts. I priced them on amazon and then on a local Irish bookseller: http://easons.com

In the end I paid €104 at Easons when it would have been €87 on amazon. Not everyone can afford the extra €17, I understand that, and I'm not haranguing.

But if you can afford it, then maybe buy from a local bookseller (wherever you are) rather than Mr. Bezos.

IMPORTANT P.S.:

Overall it was more expensive, but that was largely down to 2 hardbacks which were far cheaper on amazon. Some books were cheaper on Easons (e.g. the Beano & Dandy annuals). So even if you're strapped; check out your local shops. You never know!
