Some of you will not be able to fully enjoy EDH until you murder the capitalist in your mind
Your victory-centric approach to enjoying a game where 75% of the players must lose is a sinking ship and I am here to tell you that you can swim, you beautiful dolphins
If optimizing down to the last card is what you want then go wild but the idea that you MUST do this is holding you back. Show me the player who asks "what do I want this deck to do before the game is over" instead of "how does this deck win" and I'll show you a happy player
The idea that the game was not enjoyable if you didn't win is nonsense. It's corporate performance logic, it's BORING. EDH is not just a game it's an expression. The only measure of your return on investment is your enjoyment and that can't be quantified in wins or losses
Don't treat your hobbies like they're jobs, don't be your own shitty boss, this is your free time and the way you spend it is your call and the way other people spend theirs is theirs.
When everyone teams up to kill me because my Helix Pinnacle is at 80 or because Horobi keeps wiping the board and Endless Whispering everybody's creatures around, even as I'm torn limb from limb, I have won a victory that cannot be taken from me
