INFO WHEN BUYING NEW TIRES...

Most people don't realize that tires are the single most important safety feature on a car.

Tires connect the car to the road and life-saving techs, ABS, ESC, rely on their effectiveness. And yet tires are the least-understood parts
When to change

1.Balding. Simply look for tread bars. These bars run perpendicular to the channels of a tire. Once the tire is even with these bars, they need replacing

2. Age. Coz of UV, after ~ 7 yrs the tires integrity becomes Unreliable

3.Damage/Dry rot (sidewall cracks)
Tire buying do's and don'ts

1.Don't spend too little on them(quality)
2.Don't spend too much(brand names)
3. Buy for region and use
http://4.Buy  from recognised dealer(warranty)
5. Buy in sets of 4. If not in 2 (front together or rear together)
How to read Tires

For example P205/55/R15 95H
P= Speed rating
205= width of tire in mm
55= Ratio of hight to width
R15= Rim size
95= Load rating
H= Speed rating

As attached

*4x4 wheels have a slightly different metric.
Additional information

Can't fit everything here so feel free to research

1.Symmetrical vs Asymmetric vs unidirectional
2.Tire noise rating
3.Fuel efficiency rating A-G (A=best)
4.Water dissipation A-G
5.Treadwear
6.Traction
7.Temperature
2 cents

Most 4x4 spend 98% of their lives on tarmac. Fitting them with nobby, off-road tires may look great but it's at the expense of highway agility, traction, noise and fuel economy

Most off-road tires aren't rated for high speeds so can't give optimal performance at speed
