ok, some random thread rambles bs

its pretty obvious that cover did some stupid shit, like why did it take so long for the mel situation to get solved quickly? but, i started taking into consideration that holopro didnt get popular until like two years later
i highly doubt that the majority of the staff saw how popular they would become in the near future, imo anyway

keep in mind that they weren't originally a vtuber agency but a company that specializes in vr tech (cough cough the ping pong vr tech demo)
i also wouldn't be surprised that the only reason why they've managed to stay afloat until they started breaking even is because of their partnership with bilibili
so why the link with hololive and bilibili?

well, it's been speculated that holocn is not fully owned by cover but at least parts of it owned by bilibili
judging by the stuff ive read, and keep in mind it's all speculation, it seems that cover wants the vtubers in their chinese branch to keep something resembling of their identities (i mean, they supposedly gave them ALL of their superchat so i dont think they're in bad faith)
but because for whatever reason, seems like its caused by the holocn management, they're not able to keep their live2d models

it seems that cover is giving bilibili and the holocn branch the art, but not the tools to created the live2d models
i think the live2d part is at least understandable because certain people in china could easily use the tech and create their ccp-funded vtuber branch (yikes)
anyway, its clear to me that regardless of cover/bililbili's intentions, the girls are in an incredibly difficult situation that quite frankly, i think everyone is going to lose regardless of what people think
like i said, its obvious that cover has done some stupid shit with the likes of aloe and mel, but in this case, they're literally fighting against one of the biggest dictatorships in recent memory (im talking about the chinese communist party duh)
and like i said as well, cover didn't start as a vtuber agency, but a tech company that specializes in vr gear

there's a reason why the company started making applications last month and it's because they're understaffed as all hell, why are they still somewhat understaffed idk
it seems like the case of them biting off more than they could chew, hololive becoming extremely popular due to the whole "end of the world" thing that its parent company couldn't keep up

sounds bullshit ik but it definitely seems to be that way
at any rate, it's best that we wait until an official statement, then we can point fingers

i wish the girls good luck, and i hope that they don't give up on whatever dreams they have
this is a long thread so apologies if it took some time for you to read
