So, I've read the EHRC report.

Good to see clearly laid out elements of what constitutes antisemitic content: the familiar tropes about Jews controlling everything; and the assertion – so prevalent in my timeline even today - that it’s all smears.
They make clear that the cases they deal with are just “the tip of the iceberg” and highlight some of the appalling content from some members. Content that those of us who’ve spoken about antisemitism recognise only too well.
I’ve always believed that a lot of antisemitism on the left is due to ignorance and that education can help. Labour failed utterly on this.

I remember this from a constituency party in 2018 as a particular low point:
The EHRC are clear that the complaints system did improve over the Corbyn years. But this is their conclusion:
I’ve always been two things: Labour and Jewish. Initially so enthused by Corbyn, it slowly became harder and harder to square these two identities. That’s a conflict I hope is over now.
A real low for me: watching the Labour leader, in an interview (Andrew Neil) during an election campaign, struggling to say “Rothschild Zionists run Israel and world governments” was antisemitic.
How did it come to that?
Big thanks to all those courageous friends and strangers on Twitter and elsewhere who have stood up against antisemitism.

And to those who have listened and tried to build bridges.

Here’s to better times!
