So, something I've been pondering in my head. This has been talked about by other PoC/black creators as well, but I felt it viscerally for the first time recently.

Livestream panels of PoC/black people talking about their pain bring 1000s of views, but...(cont.)
...same creators do something fun, something not centered around our pain and trauma, and suddenly all those views vanish....why?

People seem to explicitly clear the calendar for 3hr panels about our pain, but 2hr game sessions is suddenly too long to make time for...why?
Is our pain more entertaining than our happiness?

Is our sorrow more interesting than our joys?

Is us stumbling over obstacles more watchable than our triumphs?

Just...things in my head....maybe someone has a satisfactory answer.....
And I understand that people can't make it for everything, that daily streams may be tough. But when you have that one major event with an all PoC cast, half of whom have been on or ran panels that garnered 1000+ live views, promoted by a big name company, & only 1/10th show...?
Lol, people STILL don't get it XD

I'm not talking about daily streams!

Where were y'all when me, @CriticalBard, @quiddie, @DannyPlaysGamez, and @honeyanddice played the Spice of Life game for Roll20Con???

Talked about it for days, promoted by Roll20, front page, but <150views
Where were y'all for all the @rajithegame all day charity stream that I did to raise money for @TransLifeline? Was screaming about it for days, talking about how much this game means for me, an Indian w/ very little representation, how I'll be explaining things along the way? <30
I've done numerous interviews and podcasts talking about my work, about my dreams, ambitions, and viewpoints on creative aspects, barely a sizzle.....
