Thread about Heinrich Himmler's attempt to integrate women and the feminine character into German society in the 1930's:
(1)
Himmler was very critical of homosexuality:
"... you can imagine how the enormity of two million homosexuals ... around four million missing from the number of men capable of having sex, upsets the balance of the sexes in Germany and is leading to catastrophe ..." (2)
"There despite the clergyman, despite Christian morality, despite a thousand years of religious education, the youth climbs through the bedroom window of the girl... (3)" - Himmler while criticizing the effects of Christianity on Germanic peoples. (3)
Of course, people who are Christian will naturally disagree with Himmler, but that is not the point of my thread. We are talking about male/female relations (4). More to come:
"We foolish men want to turn women into logical instruments of thought and educate them in everything, which is only possible if we so masculinize them that in time the difference between the sexes, the polarity, disappears. Then the path to homosexuality is not far." (5)
Basically, Himmler believed that the culture of Germany and the NSDAP was too hyper-masculinized, even in the women's organizations, and that could lead to an explosion of homosexuality (6).
Furthermore:
"I recognize furthermore a certain tendency in our ranks to exclude women from all events and celebrations. These same people complain then about the fact that women ... are not absolutely 100 percent won over for National Socialism (7).
Further:
"I think it absolutely is right that we now and then arrange a dance ... we now invite not girls who are in any way bad, but rather the very best ... we give the SS - man the opportunity to dance with girls and to be happy and merry with them."
(8)
"I think this is particularly important for the single reason that [it helps to assure that] no one ever come down the wrong road in the direction of homosexuality." (9)
My personal opinion is that any successful RW movement must integrate women into their movement successfully, or they will have no chance of being successful on a large scale. Sometimes, it will take a sea change in social and even religious attitudes, but it's necessary. (10)
